Gracechurch Street is a real road, located in the old City of London. During Jane Austen's time, it was deep in the heart of the city's merchant community and had a very large Quaker presence.
Relocated from Hertfordshire, we know that Mr. Gardiner and his family live in Gracechurch Street.
