Mrs. Annesley

Mrs. Annesley is Georgiana Darcy’s companion in her “establishment” in London, beginning at or just after the beginning of the novel. We are told she was “a genteel, agreeable-looking woman, whose endeavour to introduce some kind of discourse proved her to be more truly well-bred than either of” the Bingley sisters. Either the title of “Mrs.” is honorary or she is likely a widow.
