Mrs. Hill is the Bennets’ housekeeper and is the only Longbourn servant who appears more than once in the course of the novel. Mrs. Bennet mentions coordinating menus with her in order to entertain Mr. Bingley, which may imply that she cooks as well, though, given the quantity of other servants we see, this is unlikely (see the Longbourn House entry for more detail). It’s also Hill who knows that an express has arrived from the Gardiners and tips Jane and Elizabeth off to the fact that their father likely has more news.
As the Bennets are not the disgrace of the neighborhood, it’s likely that Hill has a fair amount of discretion regarding her employers’ quirks - in particular, she seems to be able to handle Mrs. Bennet’s hysteria rather formidably.
